Exchange unwanted clothing, accessories and shoes at the first ever clothes swap event at the Curve in North Kensington on Saturday 7 August.

Residents can register online for their free ticket.

Swap-shop assistants will be on hand to help you restyle and exchange unwanted clothes (adhering to Covid-19 guidelines) from 11am – 5pm. The event, ran by the Loanhood in partnership with the Council, is a sustainable way to shop, cutting waste and encouraging people to reuse and repair clothes rather than chuck them away.

There will also be a local seamstress who will be able to repair and fix up clothes for a small cost. If you have an item that needs repairing bring it along with you!

How it works

You can exchange up to 5 unwanted, clean and good quality items, including; clothing, accessories, footwear, children clothes, in return for tokens, that can be used to shop for new items.

There are two drop and swap sessions, from 11am-1pm, and 1.30pm – 3.30pm,where you can drop and swap items in the morning or afternoon, with a chance to shop any items that are left over from 4pm – 5pm.

A local seamstress from The Seam will also be on hand at the event for clothes repairs and customisations for a small cost, please check The Seam pricing list for alterations and repairs.

Any items left over from the event will be donated to local charities.

This event is part of the Council’s Green Plan, setting out targets and environmental priorities to tackle climates change, through reducing how much we throw away, increasing reuse and repair, and recycling more.
