Weather warning update

Published: Thursday 17 February 2022

The Met Office has issued a further yellow weather warning for London covering noon Sunday 20 February to 3pm Monday 21 February.  This is likely to impact on the clean-up operation following Storm Eunice.

Checks have taken place following and most of the borough’s roads and parks have been cleared. All parks are open, but please be careful in them as there will be debris on the ground.

Road sweepers and rapid response crews have been out today to help with tidying up and removing of debris across the borough and will be again on Sunday and Monday.  We hope to have the borough back to normal asap.

Some council services may be disrupted further over the next 48 to 72 hours.

What to expect during the yellow weather warning

  • Some damage to infrastructure and trees/branches is possible, especially where made more vulnerable by Storm Eunice
  • Power outages are possible, and efforts to restore power to areas which have had interrupted supply in the wake of Storm Eunice are likely to be hampered
  • Some delays to road and rail transport are likely
  • Delays or restrictions for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
