Holiday parking restrictions

Single yellow lines

Monday 25 August 2025 (summer bank holiday) No enforcement No enforcement:
  • unless a vehicle is causing an obstruction to the flow of traffic
and
  • excludes single yellow lines in safety zones* outside the restricted Carnival footprint. View interactive map.

*Look out for Controlled Parking zone signs where waiting restrictions apply on Carnival Sunday and Monday, 24 and 25 August 2025. There will also be temporary Carnival-related warning signs displayed on streets.

Notting Hill Carnival

Carnival road closures and parking restrictions will apply.

Parking bays

Pay-by-phone parking bays are free (includes Holland Park off-street car park).

Restrictions do not apply to resident permit bay parking.

Single yellow line restrictions

Single yellow line waiting restrictions do not apply on Sundays, including Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.

Individual single yellow lines operating on a Sunday are identified by a separate plate. These do not apply on Christmas Day.

Parking suspensions

Parking places are generally not suspended over bank holidays and public holidays, except for: 

  • suspensions for the purpose of a traffic flow or for an alternative bay are restricted 24 hours for each suspended day (or at any time for yellow line dispensations). This includes bank holidays, public holidays and weekends that fall within the suspended period.

Double yellow lines restrictions

Double yellow line restrictions apply on every day of the year.

Restricted zones

Waiting is prohibited at all times in restricted zones. The entry and exit is clearly signposted in a restricted zone.
