The Routemaster bus returned to Kensington High Street on Saturday 13 November after several years of lobbying by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The 9H heritage route previously ran from Aldwych to the Royal Albert Hall, but the Council was keen to extend its route to take in the popular destinations of Kensington High Street, Leighton House and Holland Park.
Councillor Sir Merrick Cockell said: "We are delighted that the Council's successful lobbying of TfL means that the Routemaster Bus Route 9H extends its service into the Royal Borough. I am sure that the sight of the iconic London bus will be popular with tourists and Londoners alike. People will now be able to travel to and from Kensington High Street while taking in a bit of London's transport history and enjoying the convenience of a hop on/hop off bus service."
The new service from Trafalgar Square to Kensington High Street runs every 20 minutes from 9:30am until about 6:30pm, from Monday to Sunday.
The Council has not contributed any funding towards this service. However, it has provided a new bus stand on Kensington High Street to facilitate it.
