The Brydon Room

The Brydon Room is a beautiful and stylish ceremony room offering a unique but classic setting for your special day. This spacious room is located on the upper ground floor of Chelsea Old Town Hall and is able to seat parties of up to 40 people (the couple and up to 38 guests). The room is decorated with a fresh floral arrangement.

You can see this room in our video tour:

Chelsea Old Town Hall is undergoing a full refurbishment from 20 August 2018 until 31 March 2019, therefore we are only taking bookings for the Brydon Room from 1 April April onwards. If you are considering a ceremony between 20 August 2018 until 31 March 2019, we recommend the Committee Room or the Mayor’s Parlour which are both at Kensington Town Hall.

One of the advantages in choosing The Brydon Room is that you can personalise your ceremony with readings and music.

A ceremony in the Brydon room enables you and your partner to be interviewed separately by the Registrar (a legal requirement) prior to the ceremony. This means that the first time you see each other will be when you stand side by side to take your vows thus maintaining an important tradition.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is pleased to be able to offer three evening ceremony times on Fridays and Saturdays at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.

The costs of a Brydon Room ceremony are as follows:

Fees 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020
Non-refundable booking fee Attendance fee Total
Monday to Friday £100.00 £425.00 £525.00
Saturday £100.00 £550.00 £650.00
Sunday £100.00 £650.00 £750.00
Bank Holiday £100.00 £750.00 £850.00
Certificates     £4

The non-refundable booking fee is payable when you book the date of your ceremony. The fee for the attendance of the Registrars at your ceremony must be paid no later than four weeks before the ceremony. The attendance fee is the fee for your ceremony in that room or venue, so includes the service itself, and the two registrars required by law to be in attendance to conduct and register your ceremony. It does not include marriage certificates which are £4 each (prior to your ceremony) or £10 each (after your ceremony). Certificates can be paid for at £4 when you pay your ceremony attendance fee.
