Inclusion and accessibility policy
The Centre for Systemic Social Work aims to create learning environments that meet the needs of all course participants.
We offer a range of support that you can access at any time during your studies.
If you do have a specific learning or access need, contact us or speak with your tutor. We'll arrange any necessary adjustments and aids as soon as possible. We'll do this in partnership with your employing organisation.
What support you can expect on the course
As a course participant, you can expect the following support:
- fully accessible training venues with good access to public transport.
- teaching dates in term time where possible.
- maternity and sickness leave policy.
- audio versions of selected reading material.
- varied approaches to teaching and learning including videos, group learning activities and podcasts.
- one to one support from tutors.
- bespoke support according to specific needs.
Educational psychology support
You will also get access to free and confidential support from the Educational Psychology Team with the council.
This support is open to all. You do not need a formal diagnosis of a recognised learning need to access it.
Help with developing study skills
We can help you develop skills in:
- organising and managing course reading
- note taking and in session learning
- essay planning and structure
- general study skills
If you would like to access this service, speak with your tutor. They will request an appointment through one of the Programme Coordinators.
Mid-course tutorials
We offer mid-course tutorials to students during the two month summer break.
You will need to sign up for a tutorial and bring your systemic practice log, supervision log and a plan for your viva.
