Starting primary school
Reception class admissions for 2026
If you submitted your application online you will receive your outcome letter via email.
You will have 14 days to respond to the offer.
Waiting lists and appeals
If you were not offered your first preference school, your child will be automatically kept on the waiting lists of your higher preference schools.
We recommend that you accept the offer that you have been made, as you will still be able to stay on the waiting lists for your preferred schools.
Your outcome letter will include more information about who to contact to get waiting list updates.
The local authority will hold the waiting lists for all Community schools and list positions will be available from 13 May onwards.
You also have a legal right of appeal for any school that has been unable to offer a place.
