Questions we receive about the City Living, Local Life grant

What do councillors do?

Local councillors are elected for four-year terms by the local community to represent its views.

How do I find out which ward my project is based in?

How do I find out what my neighbouring wards are?

What can I apply for? 

Have a look at our eligibility criteria to work out whether you are eligible for this grant. 

How much can I apply for?

For single ward applications you can apply for up to £5,000 for an event or project and up to £1,000 for a product.  
For multi-ward applications you can apply for up to £10,000 for an event or project and up to £2,000 for a product.

Organisations are limited to a maximum of 3 grants a year (1 April to 31 March).

The maximum amount an organisation can receive in a single ward is £7,000 a year (1 April to 31 March).

The maximum amount an organisation can receive in total, including multi-ward applications, is £12,000 a year (1 April to 31 March).

How long will my application take to be processed?  

Up to 12 weeks.

Can I apply for an event, project or product that has already happened/been purchased? 

No. You can only apply for events, projects and products that are yet to happen/be purchased.
