Tell us about noise or another nuisance, including a description of where the problem is happening.

If the problem is coming from outside the borough, tell us about a location as close to the border as possible.

Before you start

You will need to tell us:

• if the issue has already been reported
• the 6-digit reference number and your email address if it has
• type of noise or nuisance
• details of the problem, with any evidence
• date you noticed the problem
• if the noise is happening now
• your contact details

Things you can report

You can report problems such as:

Noise

• air conditioning units
• amplified music
• building works
• burglar alarms
• buskers
• delivery noise – such as problems with early or late deliveries
• domestic appliances – like noisy washing machines
• dogs barking or other noisy animals
• DIY or building works by the occupier
• fireworks
• footsteps
• garden or outdoor equipment noise
• loud TVs or radios
• machinery or fixed plant noise
• party noise
• poor sound insulation
• public address systems – like station platform announcements
• railway noise – including underground noise or vibrations
• raised voices or shouting – like noisy patrons outside a pub
• roadworks
• traffic or cars – including racing or revving vehicles
• vehicle alarms – cars or motorbikes

Other nuisance

• bonfires
• dust or grit from building sites or roadworks
• fumes, gases or steam – such as steam from flues
• light pollution – for instance, from floodlights
• smells – such as cooking smells from restaurants
• smoke – for instance, from BBQs

What will happen to my report?

We will email you to confirm we have received your report and are dealing with it.

We aim to contact you within 30 minutes for live problems, unless the problem is reported 3am to 7am on Sunday to Thursday or 5am to 7am on Friday and Saturday.

If the problem isn’t happening now, we will contact you by the end of the next working day.
