Information about how residents can register to speak at Full Council meetings.
Full Council meetings opened for public participation
Have your say
This is your Council. To make our community the best place it can be we need to hear from you. If you are a resident of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, please consider coming to a Full Council meeting to share your thoughts, ideas and experiences.
We are looking to the future, and we are putting residents first.
Timings and registration
Up to an hour at the beginning of each meeting will be reserved for the people who live in the borough.
To speak at a Full Council meeting people can either use our online form or register in person on the day of the meeting. There is a limited number of spots available at each meeting for speakers, so residents are encouraged to register early.
Registration for speakers will open an hour before the meeting, so please come along to the Great Hall at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street from 5.30pm.
Each person will be allotted up to five minutes. This includes the time used by the Council to answer questions.
To help make speakers as comfortable as possible with the process a facilitator from The Democratic Society will be available to provide support before and after the meeting.
The Democratic Society is an independent non-profit organisation that supports democratic participation and the citizen’s voice.
After the meeting
The Council is committed to providing people who choose to speak during the meeting a written response to their question within 10 working days. This response will either be mailed or emailed to you, depending on the information you provided when you registered.
All Full Council meetings are filmed and broadcast live on our Council Meeting Webcasts page. We strive to have full recordings posted within 48 hours of the meeting date.
We value what you have to say about the process for speaking at Full Council meetings. Let us know what works and what we can do to improve. Please email your feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org.
