The Council's Constitution sets out how the Council operates, how decisions are made, and the procedures that are followed to ensure that they are efficient, transparent and accountable to local people. Some of these processes are required by law, while others are a matter for the Council to choose.
The various documents that make up the Constitution are grouped into eight parts, including some more detailed procedures and codes of practice in Part Eight at the end of the document.
