Welcome to RBKC’s Youth Participation Hub. You might be wondering, what does Youth Participation look like in Kensington and Chelsea?
Our team of youth participation officers and local young people are here to help you take ownership of your place in the community. We do this in three key ways:
1. Empowering Youth Voice 🗳️
We make sure young people have a say in the decisions that shape their lives.
We do this through:
- RBKC Youth Council
- Work experience opportunities
- Young Leaders Awards
- Youth Voice Grant

2. Youth Participation Fund 🌟
We provide funding to support young people’s needs and ideas.
- Cost of Living Grant – in 2023 and 2024, our Youth Council and Youth Fund Assessors delivered £80,000+ to young residents to support them through the cost-of-living crisis.
- Youth Fund Assessors – All of our grant applications are assessed entirely by trained young people. To join our group of Youth Fund Assessors, please email [email protected] stating your interest.
- Youth Voice Grant – In 2024-2025, we allocated £40,000 across 10 youth organisations to run youth voice groups, giving young people a platform to share their thoughts and influence council decisions.
- Youth Social Action Grant – In 2023-2024, we awarded £40,000 across 10 youth organisations to support projects led and designed by young people.
We are reviewing how the Youth Participation Fund will be deployed in 2025 and will include more information on the website in due course.
3. Bespoke Youth Services 🏙️
We design and deliver youth services shaped by what young people say they want and need.
We run bespoke services at youth clubs across the borough, making sure our borough is adapting to young people’s changing needs.
