Community Engagement and co-design
Co-designing the projects and the community-led environmental strategy and action plan with residents is at the core of this programme. As part of the consultation and engagement process, different methodologies were used to gather input from the local community.
- Survey: Over 200 people participated in a survey involving residents, workers, young people and volunteers in Notting Dale. The responses are instrumental in creating a ward-wide, community-led environmental strategy and action plan. It helps identify environmental improvements and aligns with future funding priorities (e.g. Phase 3 Mayor of London' FN2030 funding), considering community needs.
- Community roadshows: Four community roadshows at different locations across Notting Dale were organised to encourage diverse and inclusive participation. These interactive events facilitated direct discussions with more than 200 residents. 135 people were registered. The feedback and ideas collected will inform the strategy and environmental priorities for Phase 3 round of funding, scheduled to open in September 2023.
- Stakeholder workshop: This event brought together Council officers, representatives from local community organisations and voluntary sector, residents associations and ward councillors. The aim was to understand opportunities, challenges and methods for creating a greener and fairer eco-neighbourhood. The input collected will help shape the strategy and the future funding priorities.
- The FN Steering Group: Made up of representatives of the different housing estates in Notting Dale and other residents. They helped guide the process for developing the strategy, shape community engagement and consultation process. This ensured representation, inclusiveness, and diverse participation.
