The Curve Board of Governors
‘Putting residents at the heart of everything we do’
The Curve Community Centre has been set up as a community-led space for local residents to access services and support that they need and want.
The Curve Board of Governors are committed to ensuring The Curve delivers on the priorities of the community and that their voice is central to activities and programmes at the Centre.
Board Members led by the Chair play a vital role in overseeing that The Curve Community Centre is delivering services and activities that bring benefits and positive outcomes for residents.
The Board of Governors represent the local community and listen to residents to ensure the centre is community-led and reflects the needs and aspirations of the local community.
The Board work together as an effective team of Governors to ensure the operations and delivery of The Curve Community Centre is accountable to the local community. The Curve staff team are equally accountable to the Board of Governors and to the Council.
The Board of Governors was set up in the Spring of 2018 and originally consisted of six Board members, representative of the local community. These numbers have since reduced, and we are now actively seeking to recruit new Board Members to secure a full complement in order to extend and broaden the representation of our Community.
Board of Governors meetings are normally held at The Curve Community Centre, 10 Bard Road, W10 6TP. They are not open to the public. Meetings currently take place remotely on Teams in line with Government advice and COVID-19 restrictions.
We are looking for new Board members to join the Board of Governors
We are looking for dynamic and diverse people from the local area who have the talent and expertise to become Board Members. You will take an active lead with your ideas, skills and experience to drive the future of the Curve to ensure a positive legacy for the North Kensington community.
Governors will meet once a month to ensure that the Curve is accountable to the views of residents and is delivering quality services that benefit the community.

How we got here – Interim Board of Governors
Before the permanent Board of Governors were appointed, an interim Board of Governors was set up to oversee The Curve. The interim Board included local faith and community leaders. An open and public selection process was then held to form the permanent board.
