Housing management’s new estates parking policy is now in operation. If you live on one of the borough’s estates and need parking for your vehicle—or anticipate needing it in the future—it's essential to know about the new parking policy and it how it might affect you.
Some of the key changes to the policy includes the imposition of limits on the size of residents' vehicles and an increased emphasis on environmental considerations - we are looking at installing charging bays for electric vehicles and calculating the cost of permits based on a vehicle's emissions rather than having the charge relate to a geographical location.
We've also tightened up rules around the misuse of permits and the potential outcomes for proven breaches. We have written to all residents confirming the roll out and provided a revised parking guide.
If you have any feedback or queries about the new policy, come to one of our information events and speak to a Council representative.
