Grant Funding Award for Notting Hill Carnival: 2019 to 2021

Notting Hill Carnival is one of Europe’s most exciting and largest street celebrations.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is a committed supporter of Carnival. Part of this support comes in the form of a grant of £100,000. The grant is awarded annually to support planning and event management. We are now offering one grant award for the next three years of Carnival, for 2019 to 2021. This is in recognition of the importance of: being able to plan the event in the medium-term; and to attract additional funding and sponsorship. The recipient of this grant will need to work with the wider Carnival community and local residents in the planning and delivery of Carnival.

Interested groups and organisations can download information below on how to apply. You should contact the Council at by Friday 31 August 2018 to give notice of your intention to submit an expression of interest.

Final expressions of interest must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday 10 October 2018. The decision on the grant award will be taken in November 2018.

Grant Funding Advisory Panel

To ensure a fair and transparent process for awarding the grant, a Grant Funding Advisory Panel is being formed. It aims to provide a diverse view from the local and Carnival communities on the expressions of interest submitted. The Advisory Panel will comprise representation of the Carnival community, local residents' groups, Ward Councillors and strategic partners. If you are interested and feel you are suitable for this role, please contact for information on how to apply. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 28 September 2018.
