Interpretation

This drawing is similar in composition to an outline drawing at Leighton House Museum which has been described as a drawing of a "monk dividing two enemies". (reference number LHO/D/0969).

Description

To the left of the composition a full-length standing male figure dressed like a monk. To the right is a second standing male figure with clenched fists.
