About the evening
Experience an evening of music at Leighton House with The Conference of the Birds, in a concert directed by James Potter with the Cantata Dramatica singers and players.
The performance will bring to life the highlights of Attar’s celebrated poem, with exceptional music from composer Danyal Dhondy blending eastern and western traditions, surprising parables, pen portraits of the truth-seeking birds, thought-filled narration and a rousing finale to do justice to this Persian masterpiece.
Useful information
- Doors open 6:30pm, to explore the historic house and current exhibitions.
- The concert will take place in Leighton’s studio from 7 to 9pm (with interval).
- There will be a paid bar during the interval.
- Student concession tickets are available at £15. Please note that valid proof will be required on arrival to validate student concession.
About the Cantata Dramatica
Cantata Dramatica is a not-for-profit organisation whose objective is to commission, promote and perform new music. Since 2012, Cantata Dramatica has commissioned at least one work per year from several different composers, working with a mix of professional and amateur performers at many different levels. Cantata Dramatica aims to provide a rewarding creative experience for all, with the goal of not just commissioning but also having new music performed more widely in front of diverse audiences.
