About the event
Come and meet writer and cultural historian, Kassia St Clair, and join her exploration of the histories of five pigments, dyes and hues. Learn about the green that could have killed Charles Dickens before he wrote 'A Tale of Two Cities'; the mollusks that gave us royal purple; and the costly blue that entranced artists of the Renaissance.
The evening will also include the opportunity to buy copies of The Secrets Lives of Colour and The Golden Thread, and have them signed by the author.
- Doors open at 6:30pm for the chance to explore the historic house and enjoy a drink in the bar.
- Talk and Q&A run from 7pm to 8pm in Leighton's studio.
- Book signing until 8:45pm; doors closed at 9pm.
