Youngsters from Kensington and Chelsea and beyond can keep active during lockdown thanks to a local man’s free fitness videos.

Chris Herbert, founder of Fit for Life Youth, has created a series of boxing fitness workouts which children - and adults - can take on at home without any special equipment.

Chris, who was chosen as a recipient of funding from the Grenfell Projects Fund earlier this year, shared the free workout videos to help children stay fit and healthy during the pandemic and to provide them with a much-needed break from studying.

He said: “I decided to create these videos as soon as the school closures were announced because I knew that children and families would need something positive to do at home.

“Children and young people need to develop positive habits in relation to exercise. School closures and social distancing could lead to some children not getting any physical activity, so my hope is that these videos will lead to viewers carrying out some form of activity and exercise on a regular basis.

“My motto for the videos is no equipment, no problem, no excuses and I want to show the wide range of exercises you can do without equipment. Anyone can take part and there are modified exercises to suit all abilities and levels.”

The videos are all available on Fit For Life Youth’s YouTube channel and anyone with an Instagram account can take part in live workout classes by following @fitforlifeyouth.
