Disposal of playing field land - Section 77

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Redevelopment of the existing Barlby Primary School site to provide a new primary school and a new special school is planned to commence in early 2019. The new design will provide external play spaces to meet all educational needs. Some land on the existing site will become surplus to educational needs, and it is planned to use this for new housing subject to further consultation with the community.

We would like to know if you have any comments on the proposal for the surplus school land once the new schools are complete.

Consultation

As a result of the new building design, the land on the north eastern part of the existing school site will become surplus to educational needs. It is the intention of the Council to use the surplus land for new housing subject to further consultation with the local community.

This information is being provided because we are required by the Secretary of State under Section 77 of the Education Act to consult with the community regarding the surplus educational land.

The consultation period runs between Friday 12 October and Friday 23 November 2018.
