On 30 July 2026, the High Court had granted an injunction order prohibiting any person, whether or not a driver, from driving at excessive speed, or otherwise dangerously, driving in convoy, racing against other motor vehicles, performing stunts in motor vehicles, sounding horns or playing amplified music, revving engines, obstructing any other road-user, so as to cause excessive noise, danger to other road users (including pedestrians), damage or the risk of damage to private property, any nuisance to another person not participating in the Car-Cruise, between the hours of 6pm and 6am in a gathering of two or more persons within the boundaries of the wards of Hyde Park, St James’s, West End, Knightsbridge and Belgravia in the City of Westminster and the Brompton and Hans Town Ward in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The injunction order also forbids the promotion, organisation, or publication of these activities.
The Court also ordered that a power of arrest under section 27, Police and Justice Act 2006, applies. As such, anyone engaging in these activities may be arrested.
This Order and power of arrest shall come into force at 4pm on 30 July 2026 and thereafter shall remain in force until the Return Date which will be the first available Court date after 19 Jul 2027.
