Designing out crime Supplementary Planning Document

The Designing Out Crime SPD sets out the Council’s commitment to crime prevention in the built environment. It provides guidance on Local Plan Policy CD2 and TR1 for all developments to be secure, by designing out crime and for safe new streets reducing crime in line with the Healthy Streets approach.

The draft SPD was published for consultation for eight weeks, from 28 November 2024 to 23 January 2025. The consultation document can be found on the Planning Policy consultations page.

The SPD was adopted by the Council on the 27 March 2026.

In accordance with Regulation 15 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended), notice is hereby given that the Council revoked the Designing Out Crime SPD (2008) on 27 March 2026.

As required under Regulation 15, following the revocation of the SPD, the documents have been removed from Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street and from public libraries and the digital copy archived on-line.
