If you have submitted an application that is still within its statutory determination period, or an agreed extension of time, a progress update may not yet be available. In accordance with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004, notice is given that the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has adopted its Shopfront Design Guidelines Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
The Shopfronts SPD provides guidance on the alteration and provision of new shopfronts in the borough. It also provides guidance on appropriate signage and advertisements that may be associated with a new or altered shopfront.
The Shopfronts SPD was adopted on 25 November 2011. The Key Decision for the document, together with the SPD, the adoption statement and a summary of comments received during the consultation are available for download below.
A hard copy of the SPD is available at the Planning Information Office in the Customer Service Centre at Kensington Town Hall and at all libraries in the Royal Borough. Please note that only a Word version of the document is available at the moment, but a copy with pictures and illustrations will be available in due course.
