Building height supplementary planning document

About this supplementary planning document (SPD)

This SPD:

  • identifies which areas of the borough are unable or less able to absorb new tall buidlings and structures
  • explains our policies to determine planning applications for tall buildings and structures
  • describes positive tests that new proposals should satisfy
  • offers a checklist of design issues to help prepare planning submissions

The SPD forms part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) and supplements policies within the Unitary Development Plan (UDP), notably Strat10, CD1-2, CD8-11, CD13-15, CD17, CD27-28, CD57 and CD61-63, and the Core Strategy, notably policies CO5 and CL2.
