Description: | Chelsea Arts Club with associations from 1902. Two storeys. Faced in stucco. ,Chamfered 'Tudor' arched openings with dripmoulds and iron guards on first floor. Parapet has small ball finials. The Club has close associations with many of the leading art figures of this century among them Whistler Wilson Steer, George Clausen Brangwyn, Sickert, Augustus John, Sargent, Ambrose McEvoy, Orpen, Lavery, Short, Munnings, Lutyens, Adrian Jones, Derwent Wood, Minton, Jagger, Alfonso Toft, Albert Rutherston, Sir Charles Wheeler and Professors Brown and Tonks of the Slade among many others. Graded II for historical interest. |
