Description: | Tomb of Sir Charles Lock Eastlake (died 1865.) Carrara marble gabled headstone with colonnettes to sides; inset lead lettering and cross; incised wreath enclosing monogram. History: Eastlake, a painter of literary and Italian scenes, was President of the Royal Academy and sometime Director of the National Gallery. This monument forms part of a group in this part of the cemetery. |
