Move header

Why move?

We all need to keep active to keep ourselves in tip-top condition. School-aged children need to build at least 60 minutes of vigorous physical activity into their day and under 5s need to be active for at least 3 hours.

Adults need to try and clock up at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity spread over a week (moderate intensity activity raises your heart rate, makes you breathe faster and feel warmer whereas vigorous intensity activity makes you breathe hard and fast and makes your heart rate go up quite a bit).  This might sound like a lot, but the good thing is that it doesn’t necessarily need to be structured activity (like a football lesson or swimming) but can be anything that gets the body moving including walking, scooting, skipping, skating – and just generally running about and having fun!
