Summer Challenge winners awarded prizes

Pupils from Bevington and Barlby Schools in Golborne  have won a set of prizes as part of our Unplug and Play Summer Challenge. The prizes, which included swimming vouchers, arts and crafts materials and limited edition Go Golborne pin badges, were won for the pupils’ efforts to Unplug and Play this summer.

At the beginning of summer, we gave children in Golborne a guide featuring 45 local screen-free activities. As children took part in activities, parents and participating organisations could place stickers in the guide signalling that they’d completed them. We also gave children the opportunity to tell us about any other screen-free activities they’d done over the summer.

As part of the challenge, we asked children about their experiences of taking part in Unplug and Play and got some great responses, including:

  • Taking part in Unplug and Play has helped by making me less addicted to the computer!
  • I love to Unplug and Play because it makes me fun and active and fit.
  • Taking part in Unplug and Play has meant that I have had more fun with my brother and got to spend time with my friends instead of texting them.
  • I love to Unplug and Play because I get to spend more time doing fun active things with my friends.

Congratulations to the winning pupils who put in a huge effort to Unplug and Play this summer and a big thank you to all of our partners who took part in the campaign.
