The Unplug and Play Summer Challenge is on!

After the launch of our 2nd campaign, Unplug and Play, last week, the challenge to turn off our screens and get out there and active is well and truly on! And even if you haven’t picked up a copy of the Unplug and Play 45 Things To Do… guide yet, kids can still take part in the Unplug and Play Summer Challenge and win great prizes.

What is the Unplug and Play Summer Challenge?
The aim is for children to do as many screen-free activities this summer as possible. Kids should take part in the activities listed in the Unplug and Play 45 Things To Do…guide or dream up their own active ideas then tell us about them. For each screen-free activity they complete, kids can collect reward stickers, which can be entered into guides (see below). Guides can be handed in to Unplug and Play locations at the end of summer for a chance to win some amazing prizes.

What is the Unplug and Play 45 Things To Do…guide and where can I get one?
The Unplug and Play 45 Things To Do… guide features a variety of fun, exciting and downright brilliant activities that can be done cheaply and easily in and around Golborne this summer. Guides are available to pick up in person from local participating organisations or you can order a copy by emailing gogolborne@rbkc.gov.uk. You can also read the guide online by visiting the Go Golborne online library.

Where can I get reward stickers from?
Stickers are available from participating local organisations and parents/carers, who can pick them up from Show & Stick sessions that take place at Kensal Library every Friday between 11am and 1pm.

Where should I hand guides back to and when should I do it?
Guides can be returned to The Venture Centre, Kensal Library or the Unplug and Play postbox in primary schools in Golborne and should be handed in by Friday 16 September.

What prizes can be won?
There are lots of prizes to be won including a kids’ bike, tickets to the zoo, swimming passes and much, much more. Everyone who enters will be given a free and rather smart Unplug and Play pin badge.

We’d love to see what you’ve been up to so post (or ask your parents/carers to post) what you’ve been doing on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using #gogolborne!
