The Ecology Centre runs a scheme of environmental themed activities in the summer, Easter and half-term holidays for five to ten year olds (under eights must be accompanied by an adult). These activities utilise the centre and our wooded Wildlife Area. Our fun packed programme includes outdoor activities like minibeast hunting and nature trails, and animal themed craft sessions.

Our October half term Holiday programme will run from Monday 23 July to Friday 27 October.

Happy Hibernation

Learn how animals survive the winter and make a clay hedgehog.

Creepy Crawlies

Hunt for minibeasts in the woods and make a model to take home.



Fungi Fun

Discover the fascinating world of mushrooms and toadstools.

Enchanted Habitats

Collect natural objects to create a miniature world in a shoebox.



Forest Day 10.30am to 3pm (8-12 yr olds)

Forest School themed activities in the woods. Exploration in the wildlife area and activities like knot making and shelter building.

Packed lunch needed and ensure your child is dressed appropriately for being outdoors all day.



Batty Bats Open Afternoon (open to all ages)

Free drop in between 12 noon and 4pm

Go batty for bats with some fun craft activities.

£2 donation for craft activities.



Tree Trolls

Bring autumn leaves and seeds to life with your own tree troll.

Spooky Safari

Join us in the woods to create scary clay faces. and terrible tales.

Children’s Night Safaris


Friday 3 November, 4 to 6pm (5 to 8 year olds)

Friday 10 November, 4 to 6pm (8 to 12 year olds)

Join the Ecology Team for a fun filled evening to search for the Park’s nocturnal inhabitants and explore the woods at night. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a torch with you.

These charges have been set and agreed by the Cabinet member for Environment, Leisure and Residents’ Services in March 2017.

Spaces are limited on our holiday activity sessions. Please book and make payment in advance to secure your booking. Sorry, but we cannot give refunds.

Note: * Concessions are: RBKC residents who are in receipt of: job seekers allowance [income based], incapacity benefit, disability living allowance, industrial injuries disablement benefit or severe disablement allowance or senior citizen [60+ years]. Concessions discount is also available to those who have a disability or are registered as caring for the disabled. (RBKC residents and Non Residents) For concession rate proof of residency and eligibility is required.
