Notes |
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service at Parkside work with young people from birth until their eighteenth birthday. They accept referrals from professionals such as GPs, schools and social services, but they also accept referrals directly from young people and their families.
Child and adolescent mental health teams have been trained to work with children, young people and their families. The teams consist of child psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, art therapists, family therapists and nurses. They also work with other agencies in the borough and can direct you to other services that may also be able to help.
At the first appointment they usually like to meet with the whole family and also spend time with the young person on their own.
