Council tax is being collected again following November 2025 cyber attack. Although our council tax and business rates systems are still not yet fully up and running, we are now able to collect our direct debit payments safely and securely. 

Direct Debit bills have been issued to residents to cover outstanding amounts from 24 November 2025 to 31 March 2026. This one payment will be higher than your normal monthly payments. We’ve advised residents to keep the money in their accounts if they can.

Community drop-in sessions

We are running drop-in sessions where you can speak to our staff and community partners for any additional financial support, advice and guidance. Both sessions are from 10am to 6pm.

Paying your direct debit bill

We understand this could impact your finances. If you can, please make the payments you can afford and spreading your payments over March, April and May 2026. Use your council tax account reference number which can found at the top of your bill when making payment. 

Unfortunately our online payment service is still unavailable, but payment can be made by bank transfer to our bank account:

  • our bank account number: 00000000
  • our sort code is: 57-20-24

or by calling our automated payment line, 020 3974 4670.

If you are struggling to pay this bill or cannot afford it, you can:

  • cancel your direct debits with your bank.
  • if a payment has already been taken from your bank, please contact the bank to claim a refund.

We will work with you to put in place payment plans when our systems are fully back up and running.

Annual bills for 2026/27

We will not be issuing council tax bills for 2026/27 until early summer. This is to ensure residents have enough time to pay the balance owed on their current bills and don’t fall behind their payments.
