Council services: a snapshot

The following shows a snapshot of our services budget for the 2026 to 2027 period. 

Children’s Services

Around Seventy-four million pounds (£74m) will be spent to support vulnerable and Looked After children, libraries and the educational attainment of our children.

Housing and Social Investment

Around Ninety-nine million pounds (£99m) will be spent on Housing services, including on 2,100 households in temporary accommodation and the Council’s property estate.

Schools 

Around Seventy-nine million pounds (£79m) supporting 30 schools in the borough

Public Health

Around Twenty-seven million pounds (£27m) will be spent to provide a variety of health and wellness services to reduce health inequalities within the borough. 

Communities and Chief Executive

Around Seventeen million pounds (£17m) will be spent of community safety services, registrars, community engagement and supporting the voluntary sector. 

Resources and Customer Delivery

Around thirty million pounds (£30m) on support functions such as Financial Management, Digital Data & Technology, HR and Legal & Governance along with customer facing and ‘front door’ services which include Council Tax and Business Rates.

Environment and Neighbourhoods

Around One hundred and ten million pounds (£110m) to operate two leisure centres, two museums, maintain the borough's parks, roads, footpaths and to provide waste and street cleansing services to 97,000 households. 

Grenfell

Around Twelve million pounds (£12m) annually for the multi-year programme of support for bereaved, survivors and the local community. 

Adult Social Care

Around Ninety-four million (£94m) will be spent providing social care services to approximately 1,700 people in Kensington and Chelsea.  

Levies

We will also contribute just over thirteen million pounds (£13m) to pay for a number of London-wide services such as concessionary fares and the work of the Environment Agency in our region.
