Consultation
Consultation for new homes and other facilities on this site took place from March 2019 to late January 2020. The consultation included three rounds of ‘face to face’ events showing the progress made on the design of the new homes and enabling comments and feedback from the local community . This feedback will be incorporated into the final proposals.
Planning
Following the consultation, a planning application was made by the Council in February 2020, together with subsequent revisions for the development of a mixed-use scheme. The scheme aims to provide much-needed housing alongside flexible community space and an improved and accessible community space for Swinbrook Estate.
The scheme obtained ‘resolution to grant’ planning permission in July 2020. The development will deliver 32 new homes with secure residential communal and amenity areas. The development includes c.590m2 of flexible community space, including the new Swinbrook Estate residents’ room.
