Group meetings are arranged in members' homes and local halls,(please call for more details). The NCT provides a range of services including: antenatal classes, postnatal discussion groups, breastfeeding counselling, social events, networks for parents facing particular challenges or traumatic experiences - all available to everyone. The NCT also acts as the voice of parents on national issues such as woman-centred maternity services - services which offer women choice, control and continuity of care. The NCT is also involved in research and campaigning. Surveys are conducted on parents' needs for information and support around pregnancy, bith and early parenting. Campaigns include: halting the rising caesarean section rate; promoting breastfeeding (including a publication of "You CAN do it here" - a directory of breastfeeding friendly places); safeguarding home birth as an option and for family centre policies.
