This section relates to all sold properties that have previously been tenanted residential properties of The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and which still receive some degree of services or charges from the Council, be they leasehold flats, maisonettes, studios or freehold houses.
In the case of houses, though they are sold freehold they may still attract service charges towards the estates where they are located, and be entitled to receive the services associated with those charges, often in common with the neighbouring leasehold properties.
Many of the residential properties sold by the Council are located in mixed tenure buildings or estates (i.e. they share the building or estate with flats rented out to Council tenants), the services provided would affect both owners and tenants alike. However, as a property owner you have a different financial association with the landlord, and are governed to a degree by different legislation.
