Overview of Estate Care
Estate Care is our service for cleaning and maintaining shared spaces around your home.
The service uses a local, patch-based approach. It brings together services such as:
- cleaning and caretaking
- grounds maintenance
- communal repairs
- waste and recycling
- tree maintenance
- playground safety
- improvements to shared spaces
Estate Care services
Estate Care provides a flexible, local service that responds to day-to-day needs and specific requests, such as spillages, seasonal work or missed areas.
The service is delivered by eight ward-based teams, each led by an Estate Manager and supported by a Senior Caretaker.
Day-to-day cleaning and caretaking
Teams carry out regular cleaning and routine caretaking across estates.
Mobile and specialist services
A mobile team provides:
- bulky waste removal
- scheduled deep cleans
- jet washing
- other specialist work
Evening service
An evening caretaking team:
- visits blocks on a schedule
- responds to emergencies and urgent issues across the borough
Weekend service
A weekend team carries out essential tasks such as:
- bin rotations
- litter picking
- lift cleaning
- bulky waste removal
Regular visits provide a visible presence on estates. This helps residents feel safer and can discourage antisocial behaviour.
Resident feedback and involvement
We aim to provide a high-quality service that offers value for money.
A Resident Steering Group meets to review Estate Care performance and help shape the service.
We also:
- plan to expand the Garden Club across the borough
- are reviewing future options for the Concierge and Security service
