Art direction

  • Use an image that adds context or information.
  • When using an image for a news story make sure it is related to the story and engages your audience.
    • For example, if there is a Flora marathon story, do not insert the Flora logo, use an image where people are running in the marathon within the borough.
    • Diversity of the borough should be reflected in the images.
  • Do not use an image with text such as marketing material.
    • The exception to text images will be logos.
    • Check with web designer if unsure.
  • Do not use clipart images

Once the image(s) sourced, the web designer will crop, clean and optimise the web ready image.

Remember powerful visuals evoke deeper emotions. Use visuals that reflect the human experience with storytelling will result in deeper engagement with your audience.
