Types of Councillor allowances
The Council provides Councillors with a basic annual allowance. This covers travel expenses inside the borough and working from home costs.
We also provide ‘special responsibility allowances’ for lead members and committee chairs. Some other post holders also receive this. See ‘Councillors’ allowance entitlements 2022-23’ below.
