Use library computers and devices
You can use computers in all our libraries. You need your library card number and PIN.
What you can access
Our library computes provide:
- free wifi in all our libraries
- internet access
- Microsoft Office on some computers
- screen reader software on some computers
Book a computer
PC access currently unavailable
Borrow a laptop or tablet from our library Device Loan Zones to browse the internet and more. You must be a library member and visit in-person. Ask the library desk for help. Limited devices are available, so availability is not guaranteed.
You can book a computer online or at the library.
Before you book a computer
You must be a library member to book. Join the library to get a membership.
You cannot book a computer in the last 15 minutes before closing.
Your session
You can book up to 1 hour per day. You can split this into shorter sessions.
Use your library card number and PIN to start your session on your assigned computer.
If you are late
You should aim to arrive on time for your session. If you do arrive late, you'll have up to 10 minutes to log on and start your session.
After 10 minutes your session will be cancelled and you'll need to book again.
Another session may not be immediately available. You will also lose 10 minutes from your allocation.
Before your session ends
You'll see a warning 7 minutes before your session ends. Save your work when you see this message to ensure it's not lost.
We cannot recover your work after your session has ended.
The computer will reset at the end of your session.
Printing and photocopying
Costs to print or photocopy per sheet are:
- A4 black and white: 25p
- A4 colour: 90p
- A3 black and white: 50p
- A3 colour: £1.65
Children can print schoolwork for free on library computers. Ask staff for help.
You can also print from your own device using the Princh app.
