Parking fine scams
We're aware of scams involving texts about parking fines. These texts often link to a fake website to try and steal your details. The messages claim you have an outstanding penalty charge notice and urgent payment is required to avoid further action. Read more about the scam.

There may be a delay between a vehicle removal to it being visible on Trace.

Vehicles removed by us will be released under these conditions:

Removed in line with the: Release fees
Traffic Management Act 2004

Release fee: £280 and a Penalty charge fee

Storage cost: £55 per day will apply if you do not pay for the release of your vehicle.

This fee starts after midnight on the second day.

London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2008 Contact the car pound to confirm the outstanding amount to be paid.

If your vehicle was not removed by your local authority, contact the police for more information.

How to claim your vehicle

PCN and removals fees are set by London Councils in consultation with the Mayor of London.

You'll need to attend the vehicle pound in person with the correct documents and payment to arrange the release of your removed vehicle.

Documents required to release your vehicle

When you visit the Pound to collect the vehicle, you must bring documents with you.

Regular Removal with PCN

Documents you must provide:

  • valid photo ID driving licence (or equivalent)
  • V5 vehicle registration certificate
  • Vehicle insurance document
  • proof of your address, such as a:
    • utility bill like a gas or electric bill
    • Council Tax bill
    • tenancy agreement

You’re the new vehicle owner

If you became the vehicle owner after the PCNs were issued, you need to show us the vehicle has changed owner.

You must provide:

  • the v5 registration certificate
  • a valid current certificate of insurance issued before the date the vehicle was removed
  • a utility bill, like a gas or electric bill, dated within the last 3 months
  • valid full driving licence
  • valid bill of sale
  • copy of a bank account statement showing purchase of the vehicle

All documents must show the same name and address.

Collecting a vehicle on behalf of the owner

You must provide:

  • ID for yourself, like a passport or driving licence
  • ID for the vehicle owner – this can be a photo of their ID
  • a signed letter from the vehicle owner saying they give you permission to collect the vehicle
  • proof of vehicle ownership like a V5C (logbook)
  • proof that you’re insured to drive the vehicle

Collecting a courtesy or lease vehicle

You must provide:

  • a copy of the courtesy or lease agreement, or an email from the company supplying the vehicle giving details of authorised drivers
  • ID for the driver named in the agreement

Collecting a company vehicle

You must provide:

  • a letter or email from the company that owns the vehicle, giving details of the person authorised to drive it
  • an emailed copy of the registration;
  • certificate of insurance;
  • ID of the driver

  • chip and pin card payment
  • contactless — this is in person only

  • North Acton station: take the 440 bus in the direction of the Central Middlesex Hospital, exit at Park Royal Asda bus stop. It’s about a 5 minute walk, continuing onto Park Royal Road (by the side of Asda), then turning left to the car pound at 99 Western Road.
  • Harlesden train and Underground station: take the 226 bus in the direction of the Central Middlesex Hospital, exit at Western Road bus stop. It’s about a 3 minutes walk along Western Road.
  • Willesden Junction: Take the 487 bus in the direction of the Central Middlesex Hospital, exit at Acton lane bus stop. It's about a 5 minute walk, continuing onto Park Royal Road(by the side of Asda), then turning left to the car pound at 99 Western Road.

Clamped cars

We do not wheel clamp vehicles under the Traffic Management Act 2004.

Enforcement agents or other agencies may apply clamps to vehicles parked in this borough for the recovery of unpaid Penalty Charge Notices or other debts.
