Objection is raised on the grounds that the development, because of its excessive height, bulk, massing and forward building line, would be an overly dominant and unsympathetic addition to the townscape. The development would be visible from within a conservation area of the Royal Borough, and from the Grade I registered Kensington Gardens, and would detract from these views. The proposals would fail to preserve the character and appearance of the Kensington Palace Conservation Area, and the setting of the Grade I Registered Garden, contrary to CLP policies CL1, CL2, CL3, CL4, CL11 and CL12.
