The proposed hoardings, by virtue of their size, support structure and prominent location adjacent to a trunk road and close to a busy junction, would result in significant distraction to drivers using the road to the detriment of vehicular safety, contrary to the Council's policies as set out in the Unitary Development Plan, in particular, Policy TR39.

The proposed hoardings, and large structure to support them, by virtue of their size and height and the size and location of the advertisement panels, would harm the visual amenity of the area, contrary to the Council's policies as set out in the Unitary Development Plan, in particular, Policy CD68.
