The conservatory if approved would constitute an unacceptable structure located significantly above garden level, which would be unsympathetic to the architectural character of the building by reason of its size, location and materials and is therefore contrary to policies contained within the Conservation and Development Chapter of the Unitary Development Plan, most notably policy CD42.

The conservatory would fail to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the Norland Conservation Area, and would constitute an insensitive addition to the building and area by reason of its bulk, position and materials, and is therefore contrary to the policies contained within the Unitary Development Plan, most notably Policies CD52 and CD53.
