Decision details

This case has not yet been decided.

Decision: Refuse Planning Permission/Consent
Decision date: 15 Aug 2022
Conditions and reasons:

1)

The proposal, by reasons of its differences in size, scale, retractability, pattern and placement on facade compared to the awnings nearby, are considered to be uncharacteristic to the host building, the streetscene and the Norland Conservation Area. The proposed awning would be an incongruous and overdominant feature to the host building. It would adversely affect visual amenity. The proposal would therefore be contrary to policies CL1, CL2, CL3, CL6, CL10 and CR4 of the Local Plan 2019, and the requirements stated on Supplementary Planning Documents, including Shopfronts Design Guidelines and Transport and Streets; Norland Conseration Area Appraisal; and the Norland Neighbourhood Plan.
