This case has not yet been decided.

Decision: Refuse Planning Permission/Consent
Decision date: 24 Apr 2023
Conditions and reasons:

1)

The proposed external staircase and amenity areas, due to their design, size, siting and prominent location, would be unsympathetic and incongruous, harming the character and appearance of the property, streetscene and group of buildings, failing to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the Norland Conservation Area, contrary to the Development Plan, in particular Local Plan policies, CL1, CL2, CL3, CL6 and CL11, as well as the statutory requirement for development within a conservation area and policy N3 of the Norland Neighbourhood Plan.

2)

The applicant has failed to satisfy the Local Planning Authority as to whether the identified contaminated land would be fully mitigated as a result of the proposed development, contrary to the Development Plan, in particular Local Plan policy CE7.
