The proposed extension, due to its scale and massing would fail to be in keeping with the terrace and or reinforce the character and integrity of the existing building and terrace. The glass balustrading, given its unsympathetic material, would fail to represent the age and character of the existing building and the neighbouring buildings. The proposal would therefore be contrary to policies CL1, CL2, CL3, CL9 and CL11 of the Local Plan and the guidance within the Queens Gate Conservation Area Appraisal.
