Decision details

This case has not yet been decided.

Decision: Refuse Planning Permission/Consent
Decision date: 09 Sep 2021
Conditions and reasons:

1)

The proposed extension, by reason of its size/scale and location, would result in an overly prominent and incongruous addition that would have a detrimental impact on the character and appearance of the property and the conservation area. As such, the proposal would neither preserve nor enhance the character or appearance of the building, terrace and wider conservation area, contrary to Local Plan polices CL1, CL2, CL3, CL8, and CL11, adopted September 2019 and the guidance contained in the Kensington Conservation Area Appraisal, adopted February 2017.

A pre-application advice service is also offered. In this case the proposal does not comply with guidance and policies. No pre-application discussions were entered into, but the Council is ready to enter into discussions with the applicants through the advice service to assist in the preparation of any new planning application.
