Decision details

This case has not yet been decided.

Decision: Refuse Planning Permission/Consent
Decision date: 09 Mar 2022
Conditions and reasons:

1)

The proposed mansard roof addition by reason of its unsympathetic design, scale, form, and projection above the height of neighbouring properties would detract from established unbroken roof scape and roofline, appearing incongruous and obtrusive within the terrace group on which it forms part. As a consequence, the development would fail to preserve the character and appearance of the host building, group of buildings and conservation area and views enjoyed within it, contrary to the policies of the Local Plan 2019, in particular policies CL1, CL2, CL3, CL6, CL8, and CL11 and guidance within the NPPF (2021) and statute with regard to assessment of proposed development within conservation areas.
